Coronavirus: EFP takes precautions to keep everyone safe at Perio Master Clinic 2020
Categories:Clinical Practice, Events
In the light of the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), the EFP and its professional conference organiser Mondial Congress & Events have written to all Perio Master Clinic 2020 speakers and participants to outline the precautions being taken to keep everyone safe at the event, which takes place in Dublin, Ireland, on March 6 and 7.
Following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other health authorities, a series of protective on-site measures have been adopted.
There will be an emphasis on hygiene measures such as frequent handwashing, the implementation of a no-handshaking policy, and catering will be set up to ensure maximum hygiene and minimise the risk of cross contamination.
Delegates coming from the most affected areas will be given the option of converting to online participation, as Perio Master Clinic 2020 will also be available in webinar format.
A lot of effort has been put into the technical side of the conference to enable everything to run as smoothly as possible, so if some delegates decide not to attend the congress at the Royal Dublin Society they will be able to view all proceedings via the webinar, and there is provision for speakers to deliver their presentations by videoconference if necessary.
The EFP and Mondial will continue to closely monitor the situation regarding any potential spread of the coronavirus in and around Dublin.
From Monday, March 2, participants will receive daily updates. In the event that Ireland’s National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) communicates any additional measures to be taken, immediate updates will follow.
Up-to-date information on the coronavirus situation can be found at the WHO website: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/situation-reports/.
