EFP will hold extraordinary general assembly on April 21
Categories:Institutional, National Activities
As a result of the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the EFP was unable to hold its scheduled general assembly in Pisa, Italy, on March 28.
It will now hold an extraordinary general assembly online on April 21 covering four topics:
- Approval of the minutes of the 2019 general assembly.
- The appointment of a new editor for the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, to succeed Maurizio Tonetti in March 2021.
- Ratification of the 2019 accounts and approval of the 2020 budget.
- Ratification of the proposal of the congress committee to hold a Perio Master Clinic in León, Mexico, in 2022.
Because of the extraordinary situation created by the pandemic, lawyers have approved this form of an online extraordinary general assembly. The meeting will involve members of the core executive committee (president, president elect, secretary general, immediate past president, and treasurer).
Voting by national-society delegates will be by proxy (voting Yes or No to each point) and votes must be cast by April 14.
“In these unprecedented times, we need to be flexible and agile in order to fulfil our constitutional requirements efficiently and effectively to enable the federation to continue its business unfazed," said Nicola West, EFP secretary general. "We thank our national societies for their support and understanding in this process.”
