The EFP’s annual gum-health awareness day next year will focus on healthy gums as a lifestyle and as a vital component of wellbeing.
Gum Health Day 2023 will be based around the slogan “Healthy gums look good on you. Protect them!”, which is designed to convey the EFP’s core objective of “periodontal health for a better life” while striking a positive tone of voice.
“Gums play an important role in our general health but also in our appearance as they affect the overall image of our smile,” said Spyros Vassilopoulos, the elected member of the EFP executive committee who is co-ordinator of Gum Health Day 2023.
The May 12 awareness campaign will be promoted via the EFP’s various communications channels including its website, its monthly email newsletter, social-media profiles and will also be the subject of an EFP Perio Talks podcast.
As with this year’s event, there will be a “Campaign Builder” tool on the EFP website which will enable national societies, individual clinicians to create their own customised social-media campaigns around Gum Health Day 2023.
Furthermore, a social media “challenge” will be released that people can participate and thereby promote gum health.
