Videos released to promote European Gum Health Day

The EFP has released videos and video clips to promote European Gum Health Day 2018, the periodontal-health awareness initiative that takes place on May 12.

The videos are available to all EFP national societies to use as they promote their activities for the day, which this year uses the slogan “Health begins with healthy gums.”

A wide range of activities – including free periodontal screenings, press conferences, and distributing information to the public – are being planned by the 29 participating EFP-affiliated national societies of periodontology.

Two one-minute videos – in English and French – feature Xavier Struillou, co-ordinator of European Gum Health Day 2018, explaining the importance of healthy gums to overall health and to people’s quality of life, and inviting people to take part in activities on May 12.

“Your quality of life, your general health, and your well-being partly depend on how much you look after your gums,” Dr Struillou explains in the video.

Shorter versions of these videos – suitable for sharing via social media – have also been produced, again in both English and French.
