What is the JCP Digest?

The JCP Digest offers perio research in a concise format for clinicians who may lack the time to read through dense research papers but who wish to keep their knowledge up to date.

The publication is available from the EFP website free of charge as a downloadable pdf file.

From each monthly issue of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, a highly relevant study is selected and summarised by a team of rapporteurs from EFP-accredited postgraduate periodontology courses at leading universities and academies, working under expert supervision.

The JCP Digest is co-ordinated centrally by Prof Phoebus Madianos, chairman of the EFP’s scientific advisory committee, with the co-operation of Prof Maurizio Tonetti, editor-in-chief of the Journal for Clinical Periodontology, and under the umbrella of the EFP executive affairs committee.

As well as being published in English, the JCP Digest is available in five other languages – French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish – with translation carried out by local periodontal experts. The translators are: Alexandre Sarfati (French), Alexandra Stähli (German), Filippo Graziani (Italian), Ricardo Faria Almeida (Portuguese), and Ana Molina Villar (Spanish).

The rapporteurs are postgraduate students at the 12 universities and research centres that teach EFP-accredited programmes in periodontology:
