Maria Clotilde Carra

Maria Clotilde Carra is professor at the faculty of Odontology of the University of Ferrara, Italy and of the University Paris Cité. She graduated at the Dental School of the University of Parma, Italy in 2007; obtained her PhD in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Montreal, Canada in 2012, and completed her postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University Paris Diderot in 2015. An EFP alumna herself, Prof Carra serves as director of the EFP-accredited postgraduate perio programme at the Periodontal and Oral Surgery Unit of the Rothschild Hospital in Paris since 2021. As a clinician, she has a hospital-based clinical practice dedicated exclusively to periodontology, implant dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. As researcher, her work includes meaningful contributions to the epidemiological and clinical knowledge in the area of periodontal medicine, particularly on the relationships between periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases, sleep disorders, risk factor control, and quality of life.
