Henrik Dommisch
Henrik Dommisch is professor of periodontology and chair of the Department of Periodontology and Synoptic Dentistry at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Germany). He has been a board member of the German Society of Periodontology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Parodontologie, DG PARO) since 2016 and president of the Berlin Society of Periodontology (Berliner Gesellschaft für Parodontologie, BG PARO) since 2015.
Prof Dommisch received his dental degree from the University of Kiel in 2002 and became a specialist in periodontology in 2010 and endodontology in 2013.
At the Department of Periodontology, Operative and Preventive Dentistry, University of Bonn (Germany), he was assistant professor (2002-2010) and then associate professor (2010-2014). In 2006 and 2007, he was senior postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Oral Health Sciences of the University of Washington, Seattle (USA), where he became an affiliate assistant professor in 2007 and an affiliate associate professor in 2014.
Prof Dommisch has published in the field of periodontology, endodontology, oral innate immune responses, and genetic periodontal risk factors. He has received numerous research awards and is involved in several clinical and basic-science research projects.
