Yiorgos Bobetsis is an assistant professor in the School of Dentistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), from which he graduated with a degree in dentistry in 2000. He was then awarded his clinical specialisation in periodontology and a PhD in oral biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA). Dr Bobetsis has received many scientific distinctions and scholarships. He has published articles in Greek and international scientific journals, and has contributed chapters to several textbooks. In addition, he has given lectures at conferences both in Greece and internationally. He also practises periodontology and implant dentistry at a private dental clinic in Athens.
